He advises entrepreneurial companies across Europe and the US on strategic and financial development\, with particular expertise in drug and medical device innovation\, diagnostics\, and AI adoption in eye health. As a visually impaired patient advocate and venture specialist\, he brings a distinctive perspective to ophthalmic innovation. \nPreviously\, Paul was a Managing Director at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Global Banking & Markets\, following a 10-year tenure at Lehman Brothers and earlier roles at Banque Paribas\, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson\, and HSBC James Capel\, where he established himself as a leading Telecom\, Media & Technology (TMT) investment specialist and a highly rated equity analyst recognised in Institutional Investor and Extel surveys. \nAfter losing his useful sight to macular degeneration\, Paul continued working at senior levels in banking before moving to a London private family office\, where he ran a strategic event-driven TMT investment fund. He has also held board roles across the commercial\, public and charity sectors\, including with the NHS\, RNIB\, and King’s Access Technology Group. \nPaul is Vice Chair of The Macular Society UK and serves on the Fight for Sight Investment Committee\, supporting major UK ophthalmic research funding. He also delivers the annual Living & Succeeding with Sight Loss lecture at City\, University of London\, and hosts the RybTalks podcast series for the RNIB and wider visually impaired community. \nHe holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Manchester\, is FCA-certified\, and is both a World and British champion in visually impaired tennis and a black belt in Xen-Do kickboxing.
