Dr Richard K.F. Unsworth FRSB, FHEA

Richard Unsworth is the leading expert in seagrass ecosystems in the UK and has been working in the field of nature based Solutions for the last 10 years. During a 20 year career he has published over 140 academic articles and countless reports in the field, including working on seagrass on all continents of the world. Over the last decade Richard has spearheaded the development of the UKs first major seagrass restoration programme, bringing science together with conservation action. He has advised numerous government programmes and initiatives within the nations of the UK and globally, and helped establish the UKs first major seagrass nursery facility in South Wales. Richard is an Associate professor at Swansea University and a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of the marine conservation charity Project Seagrass. He is also past president of the World Seagrass Association and author of leading articles in the academic journals Science, Nature, and PNAS.
