The Revd Jonathan Aitken –  From Politician to Prisoner to Prison Chaplain: A Roller Coaster Ride

Jonathan Aitken is a former Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister, and ex-prisoner.  After his release from prison he studied at Wycliffe Hall Oxford attaining a First Class degree in Theology.  In June 2018 he was ordained at St Paul’s Cathedral by the Bishop of London.  He is now a Prison Chaplain at HMP Pentonville.    Jonathan is the author of nineteen books including award winning biographies of US President Richard M Nixon and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He is also a well-known broadcaster and as well as public speaker in churches and prisons up and down the country. He now combines being a Chaplain at HMP Pentonville with serving as an Assistant Minister at St Peter’s Notting Hill and St Matthew’s Church Westminster.
