RCL Meeting – Paul Buchanan – Click for more info

June 3 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Paul Buchanan

Helping London’s community champions

Paul Buchanan is the new CEO of the London Community Foundation. London Community Foundation exists to help communities identify their own responses to the challenges they face, but often lack the resources. Our task is to support them. We do that by championing local organisations, connecting funders to them, channelling funds to their work, and supporting them directly to be stronger. We can find funders the best projects to support, and make supporting them easy and fulfilling. We have the understanding of small, local organisations, the expertise and the connections. We can give funders confidence, as well as reach, in the community projects they are funding.

Before this Paul was the interim CEO at In Kind Direct (IKD) helping 440k people a week to access life’s essentials and tackle poverty. Receiving products from over 100 corporates and distributing this to 6k front line charities across the UK. IKD was set up by HM King Charles III who remains the founding President. Before this Paul spent 20 years at Business in the Community (BITC), who share HM King Charles III as founding President. At BITC Paul spent 3 years as London Regional Director roles and 10 years as and Executive Director, supporting companies to improve their impact in communities. Paul also spent 5 years worked in commercial finance roles in Sky and British Airways.

In his spare time, Paul has been a trustee of the John Lewis Partnership Foundation for the last 8 years. Paul has also been chair of governors for 12 years of an outstanding rated free school in Hackney, specialising in violent and aggressive children called The Boxing Academy.
