RCL Lunch Meeting – Stanley Leverton Day and Visit from Chairman RGBI Nitesh Joshi
November 11 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Each year the Rotary Club of London holds a luncheon in memory of Stanley Leverton. This year Chairman of the Board Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland will be visiting our Club on that day.
Being the first Club to be chartered outside North America in August 1912, the London Club’s territory covered the whole of London and Greater London. Stanley Leverton had the foresight in 1933 to propose at the RIBI Conference that a new Club should be allowed to be formed within the boundary of an existing Club, allowing the existing Club to have membership rights over the whole territory. This in turn led to the number of Clubs that are in existence today in what is the London District 1130.
