At the Rotary Club of London, our activites are not just social and fundraising. The Club has several specialist Committees which oversee various aspects of the work that we carry out. These include an Interntional Committee to oversee our international filling and a Community and Vocational Committee which undertakes a lots of voluntary activites in the Community.
Rotary is committed to service in very many fields and is not afraid to set bold goals. Rotary began its fight against polio in 1979, starting with a project to immunise 6 million children in the Philippines. Today, this project covers the world and polio remains endemic in only 2 countries – down from 125 in 1988, and Rotary has comitted almost 1 billion US dollars to this campaign which is still on-going.
